This grant allows us to purchase reading materials that are researched based. It is said if taught on a regular basis with lots of consistency, students are supposed to improve at least one reading level by the end of each book level. I am proud to say that I have seen the positive influences that these programs have to offer. We will continue to use Reading Mastery for grades K-3 and Language! 3rd Edition 4-6 and hope that I see the continuous progress that I have seen the past two years of teaching at Clover Garden.

Make it a great day!! :)

PUNCHES

"The Job of an educator is to teach students to see the vitality in themselves."

PUNCHES is the new reading strategy that we are using for our EOG practice passages.
P- predict
U- underline in the passage Who, What, When, and Where
N- now read
C- circle the important words in the questions
H- hunt for the answer
E- eliminate the bad choices
S- select the best answer

I will at training Tue. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is that we have the choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one thing we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so, it is with you... we are in charge of our ATTITUDES.

-Charles Swindol

I have officially met of all of the great staff members that make up CGS.
