Notes from the First Day!

"Knowledge is proud that he has learned so much; Wisdom is humble that he knows no more."
- William Cowper

This is my classroom at a glance! I feel as if it is very welcoming. The kids have loved it and felt so welcomed. Several of them asked me, "how long do I get to stay in here each day?"

First Day of School is Tomorrow!

"Do all the good you can to all the people you can, in all the ways you can, as often as ever you can, as long as you can."

First day is going to be very exciting. I have my lunch pre-packed and I hope to get to bed early. I am ready to be a teacher and hopefully make an impact on all the students that cross my path. I will post pictures of the first day in my next update!

Tomorrow is Open House!

A child cannot be taught by anyone who despises him, and a child cannot afford to be fooled.
-James Baldwin

Day 3 of training

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is that we have the choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one thing we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so, it is with you... we are in charge of our ATTITUDES.

-Charles Swindol

I have officially met of all of the great staff members that make up CGS. They all are very supportive and fun to be around. I look forward to what I learn next week!

First Day of Teacher Orientation

To stimulate life, leaving it then free to develop, to unfold, herein lies the first task of the teacher.
- Maria Montessori

One thing that I had mastered in College is to never stop learning. Today has been a long day. We started at 8:00am and will be finishing up at 3:00. I have learned so many helpful tools that are going to make me successful my first year. I am a true believer that you are not given anything that you cannot handle. The team here at Clover Garden is very supportive and I am excited to be working with them.
